Winter Wuhoo Training 2003-11-19

I am going to be doing Winter Wuhoo this year, and now all I have to do is learn how to XC Ski, Snowshoe, and how to carry an iceaxe, and crampons without killing myself or anyone around me.

To try and make this easier, im planning on heading up to Snoqualmie pass most weekends from now till mid Jan, and wanted to open up the opportunity for any other Neophytes (beginners) like myself to come along and practice. Maybe we could even get a few more experienced folks to tag along and show me the way :)

Next session is going to be 08:00 on Sunday mng at Old Milwaukee Lodge, for either a XC Ski session - my first :) or some snow shoeing (yet another first) which we do, kind of depends on weather between now and then. Aim is to head out for 3-5 hours, and see how far we get on the regular trails.

Also if anyone is looking for a team, then we currently only have 3 confirmed, so there is space for one more participant.

Finally, if anyone has some winter gear thats surplus, you know of someone with hand gear for sale, or any good sources of this kind of kit, that would be awesome. Im planning on stopping by Play it again sports in Woodinville, and Bellevue tomorrow, but have no idea if they will have anything worth looking at? Or should I be going elsewhere?

Cheers

Steve

Ps.

I just heard Mt Baker is opening tomorrow - what a shame I have the day off :) But I have to do chores :(
