How did you get involved in the sport of adventure racing?

I had been lurking around AARC for a while, but work kept me travelling. Then Sabina and Shannon dragged me out on an MTB Hike a Bike up Mt Teneriffe. That led me into doing the Summer Wuhoo in 2003, and it all started to happen from there

What are your interests?

Keeping Fit, Having Fun, Spending time with my family

The keeping fit and having fun part is where I like to get out and do stuff outdoors - Skiing both downhill, and cross country, snowshoe, Mountain Bike, Road Bike, Swim, run, Kayak, and plenty of other things

At various times in the past, I have raced yachts, dinghies, sailed Windsurfers, rowed for 7 years, and won silver and bronze medals at national level (in the UK), raced Mountain Bikes, Triathlons, Motocross, Enduro, and a few other crazy things

What do you enjoy most about adventure racing?

Getting out into the Great Outdoors.

What is the one thing you always carry with you in a race?

Compass, map, first aid kit, probably the 10 essentials, or mandatory gear. Nothing else is really that important that I cant make do without it. its all just extra luxuries really
